Selected large customers and public bodies receive the source of the release they run — to review, audit and develop further for their own use. That is not a GitHub download and not OSI open source for the full product.
The point
Auditability is a fair procurement goal. Liman stays a commercial product: optional Microsoft 365, bundled calendar, advanced meetings and AI. Open source in the OSI sense applies to third-party components — and optionally later to a narrow community core, not to the full product.

- Hosting partners who run Liman as a service
What you get
- The right to run Liman in your infrastructure or with your partner
- Source of the release you operate (private repository or deposit)
- Review, security audit, further development for your own use
- Updates and support as agreed
What you do not get
- The right to publish the code or sell it as your own cloud service
- An OSI open-source licence for the full product
- A certification (BSI, accessibility) merely because you have the source

Community core — a later option
A public core under an OSI licence (proposed: AGPL) would be the web app for Matrix chat and channels, standard video meetings, and calendar, contacts and files against Nextcloud or Open-Xchange. Not included: Microsoft 365, Liman Cloud calendar, town hall and webinar, recording and transcript, AI, desktop apps. That is an option without a delivery date — not a substitute for Enterprise. We will call it open source only once that core is published.
Open standards are not the licence
Chat may use an open protocol, calendar CalDAV, files WebDAV. That helps operations. The Liman application itself is under the Liman licence; qualified customers receive source under contract. Third-party components are listed in the open-source notices.
